This degree program will give you a fundamental understanding of the planning, design and completion of buildings. The program allows you to explore a variety of different technology and software, from virtual 3D design to 3D printing, 激光切割等. The degree can be used to begin a path toward four- or five-year accredited architecture program, or a career as a licensed architect. Graduates will be qualified for employment in architectural design and planning firms as well as construction companies, engineering and surveying firms.
Coursework will emphasize the creation of detailed residential and commercial construction drawings. You will use industry standard software and experimental manufacturing to produce creative, high-quality renderings and design a variety of building types while applying current codes. You will also gain an understanding of building methods and materials; structural and mechanical systems; and cost estimating procedures.
The department has many strong industry connections in the region, and graduates may choose to enter the workforce upon graduation or continue their education at a four-year institution.
注意: All states and the District of Columbia require architects to be licensed. Licensing requirements can include a professional degree in architecture, a period of practical training or internship, and a passing score on all parts of the Architect Registration Examination.
